Daytime was very long in northern Germany. The beautiful night sky could be seen clearly here from inside the stadium at game time.
Italy and Ukraine stand for singing of their national anthems.
Action with Luca Toni receiving a long pass on the Italy attack. Italy featured 11 different goal scorers, a World Cup record.
Totti shoots on goal, but too close to the keeper. Zambrotta opened the scoring for Italy with a long shot from a darting run. Toni closed in the second half with a brace: Italy 3-0 to advance to the semifinal.
Catenaccio: Italian football defense. As good as it gets.
